My biggest inspiration is nature.

My biggest fear is memory loss.

My biggest hope is harmony.

Natalia’s mission as a human and as an artist originates from the enquiry into interconnectedness of all living and non-living beings, the flow, transience and the exchange of energy.

She is drawn to all things bittersweet exploring the changes associated with ageing, the impact of memories on our identity, notions of spirituality, time, the role of nature in improving human well-being and the philosophies of grief. Her work is often parishable and non-permanent. It reminds about the fragility of life, inevitability of change and transformation. What once was, will never be. The pieces are primarily constructed from found materials, frequently damaged before put together again. Working in a broad range of media, including photography, video, sculpture, mixed media and paint, the artist gives decayed or broken objects a new function and extend their life. She has tactile, instinctive and experimental approach to her creative practice. It is intuitive and atmospheric, drawing on symbolism and abstract forms. Natalia investigates different forms of loss as a gateway to post-traumatic growth and healing and this is the core of her Grief Letter project.

The artist’s Ukrainian origin is deeply rooted in her art and community work. Today she works in her own studio in Hertfordshire. Her work has been featured in a number of UK exhibitions and publications. In 2021, she held a solo exhibition Vanishing Point in the Crypt Gallery, London, telling the story of her personal experience of loss and raising awareness about dementia. Natalia is the ambassador of Arts 4 Dementia and runs monthly local art classes for people affected by dementia.

As part of her research, she have been contributing to a number of blogs, including, ‘My Journey from Grief to Art’, CHWA Stories, Smart Artists Hub, Tebbs Gallery, Better Together Artists, the Two of Us Podcast.

Natalia is a member of Visual Artists Association, Artquest , A-n, AXIS, Spiltmilk Collective.
